Keavong's earliest memory of writing was in year 8 English when he wrote a short story and his teacher read it and couldn't stop laughing. He knew he had a niche for writing comedy.

He then began writing short scenes + monologues for himself as well as other actors and soon after was accepted into the young playwright's residency programs Queensland Theatre Playwrights Program (2017) + Playlab Theatre's Incubator Program (2018) working on two full-length plays.

After a two year hiatus, Keavong got into writing again in 2020 when he worked on La Boite: HWY LIve: Assembly as their writer for the program and wrote a 10-minute piece about a sassy grandmother and grandson.

Keavong acknowledges the significance of getting to live, and work, on Aboriginal land, where sovereignty has never been ceded, and he pays his deepest, and most heartfelt respect, to Elders past, present and emerging. Always was, always will be.
